SEPTARIAN - Eggs (C)
SEPTARIAN - Eggs (C)
Septarian nodule, also called dragon's egg, is a combination of three colors consisting of aragonite (brown), calcite (yellow) and limestone (grey). The name comes from the word "Septaria", which usually refers to any structure with internal cavities or fissures.
This unique mineral was formed about 50 to 70 million years ago during the Cretaceous - the period of Earth's development. Marine life was attracted to the molten sediment caused by the volcanic eruption and eventually began to die off. Their chemical composition enriched the sedimentary rock, forming the nodules we see today. As the oceans began to recede around the world, the water inside quickly dried up, creating vast cracks. The chemical compounds of the dead marine life crystallized over time to form aragonite crusts and calcite crystals.
Most septarian nodules come from Utah or Madagascar, which were under very similar conditions at the time.
These ancient stones have a very powerful energy. Septarian grounds and awakens a connection with Mother Earth and nurturing the energy it provides. It activates the root chakra, and the energy flowing through the body is a combination of three powerful minerals that help align the entire chakra column. Septarian is an ideal stone for anyone going through a period of drastic change, helping to awaken the inner self and supporting personal development and building new habits. The stone maintains a shield around the aura, filled with the energy of the earth, giving the companion time and strength for the inner treatment.
This concrete nodule has been carefully shaped in the shape of an egg and has a smooth polished surface which emphasizes its natural patterns. This makes it both aesthetically appealing and pleasant to the touch. Dragon eggs, as they are often called, are a valued addition to any mineral collection or as a decorative element in the home.
